Bhubaneswar :

BHUBANESWAR OFFICE functions as the headquarter office and also the place where most of the training programmes are conducted. The office is well furnished & well equipped and is managed by a team of qualified and experienced staff as a front running resource centre.
Events/ programme conducted Directly by Head Office :
  1. Training of medical & paramedical staff for continuous five years.
  2. Training of women in different vocational trades in collaboration with the KVIC, Govt. of India.
  3. Workshop on women leadership inaugurated by Honourable Governor of Odisha.
  4. Women Awareness camp sponsored by NWC, New Delhi. Inaugurated by Chair Person State Women Commissioner.
  5. Workshop on Female Foeticide sponsored by SCWB, Govt. of Odisha. Inaugurated by Chair Person State Social Welfare Board.
  6. Distribution of relief materials during recent floods.

 

Guest House Exclusively For Women at Bhubaneswar :
This has been established for catering the accommodation needs of economically weaker women travelling alone to state capital for work related activities, with minimum charges, providing them full proof safety and security with women friendly atmosphere. This is being fully managed by all women staff on NO PROFIT NO LOSS BASIS. It is located at plot-no. 525, in a posh locality at saheed nagar, Bhubaneswar. Only 3k.m. away from Railway station and 6k.m. away from Airport and Main bus-stand, the contact no. is 0674 – 2545766.

Puri :

SWADHAR HOME AT PURI is a central Government funded project with an intake capacity of 150 helpless, distressed, deserted and deprived widows, women and girls who are not merely provided with fooding and accomodation, income generating programme and accommodation but also health care, counseling and vocational training services. A number of resource augmenting schemes like making of incense sticks, Wicks, Chhatua & Cereal, Phenyl etc are being implemented through the active participation of inmates of Swadhar.
The following Special activities at Swadhar Home have been undertaken :
  • Enabled 27 drop outs for appearing matriculation, the threshold qualifying standard for job eligibility, through correspondence course mechanism by giving them intensive in house coaching. 11 of them have qualified and passed matriculation examination.
  • Helped in rehabilitating 193 inmates of Swadhar home through compromises with family, marriages (6 nos) and facilitating self and wage employment.
  • Provided training to 80 inmates in different vocational trades like agarbati making, paper conversion, phenyl making etc on collaboration with KVIC, Govt. of India and DIC of Puri. Fifteen inmates are undertaking intensive training on appliqué work imparted by Handicraft Department, Govt. of Odisha.
  • The inmates visited Mathura & Brundaban.
  • Restored eyesight of seven aged women through cataract operation.

 

Swadhar Home Activities:

All abled and capable inmates are currently engaged in different in house activities like operating omfed milk distribution booth, cereal making, temple centric articles making and wheat and dry grinding of spices and dough and idle and Dosa and also paper conversation activities.

Bhadrak :

A Special Residential Shool For Deaf, Dumb & Blind Girls.

Special activities :
  • Enabled nine disadvantaged girls for going for higher education by admitting them at college level education.
  • Helped in the Restoration of better eyesight to Twenty-two blind girls through minor and major operations at Rotary eye hospital at Cuttack, Aurobindo Eye Hospital at Pondicherry and Sankar Netralay at Chennai in different time intervals as referred. cornea grafting of four girls at Sankar Netralaya at Chennai have been done.
  • Helped in the empowerment of hearing ability for hearing impaired girls through intensive checkups supplemented by supply of hearing aids and Sign Language Training.
  • Imparted Vocational training through KVIC, Govt. of India for self employment.
  • Sign language training in collaboration with National Training Centre for the Teachers of Deaf at Janla.

 

Other Project Locations :

Women Empowerment Centre at Satyabhamapur :
A nodal centre with a local co-coordinator has been established with 250 women from a cluster of 9 villages having registered with the centers expressing their readiness & willingness for active participation in different development Health empowerment and awareness programmes. More than 120 of them have already been trained in collaboration with KVIC of Govt. of India.
